After several months of work and discussions on the project, Drekan-Group is pleased to announce the finalization, at the start of the year, of the takeover of EMG-EMCO.
EMG, specialist in exciters for synchronous machines
EMG-EMCO is a family company created almost 30 years ago, it is specialized in the design and manufacture of exciters for synchronous machines, in particular power generation alternators, it is very present in hydropower where it refurbishes old generation excitation systems, as well as in nuclear or marine. Alongside this highly technical activity, EMG has developed a repair and trading activity for low-power rotating machines and notably offers direct current motors in France from the Italian Ansaldo / Nidec. The company employs around ten people and operates a winding workshop located near Sens (89) where it also serves a clientele of local industrialists with their needs in electromechanical supplies and maintenance.
Strong synergies expected with Drekan-Groupe, specialist in rotating machines
Drekan-Groupe, a structure created less than 10 years ago, is specialized in the manufacture and repair of energy conversion machines (motors, alternators or transformers) of small and medium power (0 to 20mW).
The company has around one hundred employees spread over 8 industrial sites totaling nearly 40,000 m2 of workshop. The company intends to continue its development in France and abroad to quickly take a European leadership position in this sector little known to the general public. EMG’s range of exciters completes the group’s catalog of components for rotating machines, and now allows Drekan to offer fully integrated offers ranging from engineering to machine shop rewinding, including design, the manufacture and supply of “brushless” excitation systems. The electromechanical maintenance activity carried out locally by EMG will allow Drekan to gain a foothold in a territory where it does not have a presence.
