After several months of work and discussions on the project, Drekan-Group is pleased to announce the finalization, at the start of the year, of the takeover of EMG-EMCO.
EMG, exciter specialist for synchronous machines
EMG-EMCO is a family company created therenearly 30 years ago, it specializes in the design and manufacture of exciters for synchronous machines, in particular alternators for energy production, it is very present in hydroelectricity where it refurbishes excitation systems for older generation, as well as in the nuclear or navy sectors. Alongside this highly technical activity, EMG has developed a repair and trade activity for low-power rotating machines and notably offers DC motors from the Italian company Ansaldo/Nidec in France. The company employs around ten people and operates a winding workshop located near Sens (89) where it also serves a clientele of local industrialists for their needs in electromechanical supplies and maintenance.
Strong synergies expected with Drekan-Groupe, specialist in rotating machinery
Drekan-Groupe, a structure created less than 10 years ago, is specialized in the manufacture and repair of energy conversion machines (motors, alternators or transformers) of small and medium power (0 to 20mW). The company has a hundred employees spread over 8 industrial sites totaling nearly 40,000 m2 of workshop. The company intends to continue its development in France and abroad to quickly take a place as European leader in this sector little known to the general public.
EMG’s range of exciters completes the group’s catalog of components for rotating machines, and now allows Drekan to offer completely integrated offers ranging from engineering to workshop rewinding of machines, including design, the manufacture and supply of “brushless” excitation systems. The electromechanical maintenance activity carried out locally by EMG will allow Drekan to gain a foothold in a territory where it is not present. For its part, EMG will benefit from the group’s capacities in terms of winding, lifting or human resources in order to develop its commercial offer with its current customers.
